Major or Minor in Game Design?

Driven, creative, passionate. That's the hallmark of the students who pursue Game Design at Mason. Electing to major in Game Design immerses you in the program's offerings, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a robust foundation for your professional career. Electing to minor in the program allows you to combine your love of technological innovation and world-building with your wider studies at Mason. Majors and minors have access to multiple ways to engage with their fellow game designers, including events, competitions, and special activities.

We believe in the necessity and benefits of a liberal arts education, helping students develop a strong sense of social responsibility as well as intellectual and practical skills. We're proud to create a learning experience that expertly balances research and real-world practice, taught by faculty who are leaders in the field. The Mason Computer Game Design program hosts the only Serious Game Institute in the U.S. (in partnership with Coventry University), that concentrates on game-related applied research and new innovative game company cultivation.
