Biography

Kayla decided to go to George Mason because it is one of the few schools, at the time, that offered Computer Game Design. She appreciated the program showing her all aspects of game production, so that if she wanted to go into business for herself and create her own studio she could since she took a class in every division.

Kayla Clay is currently a software engineer at Northrop Grumman (NG) where she develops training simulations for the United States Navy. Prior to NG, Kayla worked at BreakAway Games developing training simulations for nursing and also entertainment games. Kayla believes that learning can be fun and that games/simulations can be great teachers when they are created on a user-friendly platform. Kayla was also instrumental in the maintenance of the website for the Serious Games Showcase and Challenge; a non-profit organization that collects and showcases serious games from numerous companies on their website. This showcase is presented annually at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference held in Orlando, Florida. Kayla presented games, that she helped to create, at the conference for 3 consecutive years.
